FAQs
Q. Is my child ready for swim team?
We strive to facilitate an environment where our swimmers are encouraged to learn as well as train to be competitive athletes.
To join our team, mastery of strokes is NOT required, however, swimmers must be able to demonstrate the following...
- Swim unassisted 25 yards freestyle breathing to the side and swim 25 yards backstroke demonstrating good body position for both strokes
- Each athlete should able to follow instructions and be ready to learn.
- Demonstrate the fundamental knowledge of what breaststroke and butterfly should look like
Q. Do I have to stay with my child during practice?
Nope! We actually prefer that you drop your child off and let us do the work! We have trained coaches and work in coordination with the Aquatic Center staff to ensure all athletes are safe in all aspects.
Q. Can I come and watch during practice?
Yes! We welcome you to come and observe practices, but please be aware of a couple of things:
Instructional Pool Practice- (during the week) the Aquatic Center only allows swimmers and coaches in the instructional pool area. You may wait on the bleachers in the Main Pool area.
Main Competition Pool- (Sundays) Please sit along the side of the pool, not the end of the lanes. The side is optimal for our swimmers to maintain focus on the coach and practice.
Q. Do you give sibling discounts?
Yes! We provide a 10% discount for families with multiple children enrolled in the same season. During registration, just send the treasurer a note to make the adjustment for your invoice.
Q. How can I pay?
Payments can be made via check or cash given to the Treasurer. We also accept credit card payments as an available option during registration. If you have additional questions, please contact our team Treasurer.
Q. What is my time commitment?
We ask that you have your athlete at practice at least 10 minutes prior. This gives time for them to sign in, adjust goggle, and get settled and ready to practice.
During the regular season, every family must sign-up for one volunteer position to work 1/2 of every meet. If you do not volunteer your child may be removed from the meet. Volunteer positions will be posted ahead of the meet so you will have the opportunity to sign up.
